Lok Virsa Museum Islamabad

Lok Virsa Heritage Museum is located in Shakarparian Hills on Garden Ave in Islamabad at the distance of just less than 2 km from Zero Point. It presents historical and living traditions of the people of Pakistan both from urban and rural areas as well as from the remotest regions of Pakistan.

The main purpose of the museum is to educate present and future generations of Pakistan about the living culture of Pakistan people. It is one of very different type of museum providing very different point of view to present information to visitors.

Next to the Lok Virsa Museum, there is a library with valuable books and resources on ethnography, folk music, art, anthropology, history and crafts. A part of valuable materials are also available on sale at Lok Virsa sales centre.
