Nathia Gali

Nathia Gali is the highest point and hill station in the Galyat area in Abbottabad, and is located at the distance of 82 km from Islamabad via Kashmir Road via Murree. It is fully covered with shades of pine, cedar, walnut, maple, and oak trees.

Accessing Nathia Gali

To access Nathia Gali from Murree side, drive on Murree Expressway (N-75) from Islamabad. Then from Lower Toppa, turn left to access old Murree Road to finally reach at Nathia Gali. From Abbottabad, it is located at a distance of 35 km on the paved mountain road.

Nathia Gali Bazaar

In Nathia Gali, there are several hotels of different ranges to spend night there. It would better to stay at night, if you have a plan to summit any trek in Nathia Gali such as Miranjani trek or Mukshpuri trek. You can visit Nathia Gali Bazaar in the evening by enjoying cold and crispy weather. You can also enjoy roadside tea or coffee from local stalls in the bazaar.

Pipeline Tracks

Nathiagali has cool and pleasant weather at all times. In the monsoon period, rain is expected every day, so tourists must have raincoats with them. In the winter season, tourists can enjoy snow-falling in Nathiagali.

In the British Era, they had developed the area and installed drinking water system in the Galiyat region in 1905 using long pipes on the sides of the mountain valleys. These pipe became the historical walking trails in the Galiyat region. Nearly flat walking treks between Dunga Gali to Nathia Gali, from Ayubia to Dunga Gali, and from Ayubia to Khaira Gali. These treks are ideal walk for families and childrem.

As there are several scenic treks in Nathiagali, one of them leads to Thandiani via Dagri Nala. Another one is from Nathiagali to Ayubia. All of these treks have beautiful scenic views with lush green mountains everywhere, and one can also enjoy the singing of birds and colorful butterflies around different kinds of flowering plants.

Mukshpuri Top Trek

Nathia Gali is popular for its scenic beauty with lush green meadow and forests. Mukshpuri and Miranjani are the two highest peaks of the area, you can also enjoy the treks to the top of these hills.

Mukshpuri Top is the second highest peak in the Galiyat region at an elevation of 9,186 feet. Trek starts from the Donga Gali and it takes 3 to 4 hours to reach at the top through the scenic views with the high ridges of Kashmir mountains in the deep pine forest. It could be a chance to view various wildlife in the Ayubia National Park.

Miranjani Top Trek - Highest Peak in Galiyat

Miranjani Peak is the highest peak in the Galiyat region at an elevation of 9,816 feet. From Nathia Gali main town, a short drive leads you to the starting position of trek. From where, it takes nearly four hours to reach at the top. Trek gives scenic views of deep pine forest on the ascending mountainous treks. At the top, one can get the view of Nanga Parabat, if weather is clear. One can get 360 degree panoramic view of the surrounding mountain ranges. Due to highest point, there is a strong wind flowing there all the time.

One who loves nature especially wildlife can enjoy the best of one's life in Nathiagali, there number of different species of birds, butterflies, insects, and other animals. Leopard, monkey, and bear can be seen in Ayubia National Park.

Dagree Bangla Trek

On the Miranjani Top trek, after a three hours trekking, it divides into two trek. Left trek leads toward Miranjani Top and second trek is for Dagree Bangla. From here, nearly three hours trekking through deep pine forest is required to access the Dagree Bangla. It is beautifully constructed building inside the deep forest over a mountain top. Now another new Bangla is also constructed near the old Dagree Bangla. Trekkers can have camping there to spend a night in the calm and pleasant atmosphere inside the deep forest. You can also observe different kinds of wildlife over the trek.

St. John's Church & Governor House

In Nathia Gali, there are many landmarks associated with the historical colonial era. St. John’s Church is located in the main town of Nathia Gali. Another landmark is the building of Governor House at Dunga Gali. The historic construction by using timber-frame within the serene pine forest, make it ideal place to visit.

Nathia Gali Weather

Summer season is pleasant, so it is an ideal time to visit Nathia Gali, whereas temperature goes below zero degree in winter season. People visit Nathia Gali in winter season to enjoy snowfall and there is an opportunity to have winter various with snow. While driving in winter season, it would be highly recommended to use wheel chain to avoid slipping over the road.
